ZWQ S400 vs S100s Baize 2.0: Which Springer Should You Buy?

Choose the S400 when you want a bullpup layout and the magazine options included in the Monkee Exclusive package. Choose the S100s Baize 2.0 when its conventional primary-blaster layout suits your hands better and you want to keep the purchase focused on the basic platform. Sharing the ZWQ badge does not make these two versions of the same blaster. Handling and the actual contents of the box matter more than the model number.

This comparison covers the nylon-internal Baize 2.0. An original S100, an older S100s or a Hi-Spec Baize is a different purchasing question. Take a photograph of the model label if you are adding a second ZWQ to equipment you already own.

Pick the reload position before buying upgrades

A bullpup puts the reload behind your firing hand. Some players like bringing the magazine into the stock area; others find it awkward while keeping their eyes on the game. Practise the motion with the blaster unloaded, including the release and the return to your normal grip. Check both shoulders if you regularly change sides around cover.

With the Baize, assess whether you can reach the magazine release and priming controls without stretching. A comfortable static hold is only half the decision: repeat the whole prime, fire and reload sequence. There is no measured handling test here establishing a universal faster choice. The useful result is identifying which layout you can operate consistently.

Shared magazines can make the second purchase simpler

The exact shared product is the ZWQ 10-dart wide-body magazine, whose listing names the S400 and S100s V2. It takes half-length darts. That is a concrete way to share reload equipment across these two platforms.

Keep wide-body magazines separate from any Talon magazines you use with an adapted S400. An adapter changes the receiver interface; it does not change every magazine made by ZWQ. Buy one confirmed spare first if you are moving equipment between blasters, and check retention, release and feeding before building a larger magazine set.

Compare the complete purchase basket

Write down the blaster, compatible spare magazines, suitable darts and the carry solution you will actually use. Then compare current checkout totals. A bundle containing accessories you need can be useful; accessories you would leave in the box add little practical value. Prices, colours and availability can change, so this guide does not freeze an old price difference into a recommendation.

The S400 package's adapter is particularly relevant if you already own confirmed compatible Talon-format magazines. Ask whether the supplied adapter is installed or loose and check the package selected at checkout. For the Baize 2.0, budget around its listed wide magazine rather than an unverified conversion.

Buy for the permitted game, then consider tuning

Ask your venue which configuration is permitted and how it measures output. A maker's operating-zone statement does not tell you what a particular spring, barrel and dart combination produces. Use a chronograph with the darts intended for the game before treating either platform as ready for a capped event.

Our conditional recommendation is therefore straightforward: buy the S400 for its layout and documented bundle flexibility, or the Baize 2.0 for its preferred handling and simpler magazine plan. Neither recommendation depends on invented accuracy results or a promise that one spring number matches another platform's output.

Frequently asked questions

Will my S400 wide magazines work in the Baize 2.0?

The named wide-body magazine lists S100s V2 compatibility. This does not extend to Talon magazines used through an S400 adapter.

Is the Baize 2.0 a guaranteed 300 FPS blaster?

No. Its product description gives an operating-zone claim, rather than a measured stock result for your darts.

Does a shared magazine mean shared internal upgrades?

No. Check the exact model named on each spring, barrel, receiver or adapter listing.
