The Atomic-Tuned 2 Motor sits between its Torque-Tuned and Rev-Tuned siblings in Tamiya's second-generation Tuned Motor range, aiming for a middle-ground balance of speed and torque rather than maximising either one — a reasonable all-round choice across different circuit layouts. A pinion gear is not included and must be fitted separately. Tamiya tags it for Mini 4WD cars (excluding Mini 4WD PRO) and Dangun Racers, with chassis compatibility running from Type 3 through Super TZ-X, VS, AR and VZ Chassis. Against its PRO-chassis counterpart, the Atomic-Tuned 2 Motor PRO, this standard version actually posts a slightly higher top-end RPM (14,900 versus 14,500) for the same peak torque figure of 1.8mN·m, since the two motors are wound for different chassis families rather than simply being detuned versions of one another.
