It's formulated at a viscosity chosen to limit leakage and mess while still coating well enough to give smooth rotation and reduce wear over repeated running. The bottle has a plastic nozzle for precise, controlled application to small parts.
It's formulated specifically for the metal rotating parts in Tamiya's bearing and roller lineup, such as the HG Round Hole Ball Bearings (item 15519) and the HG 19mm Aluminum Ball-Race Rollers (item 15464), as well as gear-mounted bearings like the Mini 4WD PRO Gear Bearing Set for MS chassis (item 15347), rather than being a general oil for plastic gears or bushings. Applying it through the nozzle in small drops, directly onto the exposed race or eyelet, avoids over-oiling, which can attract dust and grit off the track and increase friction rather than reduce it.
