The chassis defines wheelbase, motor position and how the car flexes. Choosing one is the most consequential decision in a build, and it is not easily reversed.

Beginner-friendly options

MA is a rigid double-shaft chassis that is easy to build and forgiving. VZ is light, short and simple to work on. Either is a sensible first choice, and both are widely supported for parts.

Rear-motor platforms

MS is modular and midship, which is what makes MS Flex possible later. AR is stiff and aerodynamic with easy maintenance access. Both reward a builder who wants to develop the car over time.

Front-motor platforms

FM-A puts the motor at the front, shifting weight forward. That changes braking and jump behaviour substantially, and it suits technical layouts more than fast open ones.

Do not chase the newest

Older chassis remain competitive in the right hands. Pick one, learn it thoroughly, and change only when you understand why the current one is limiting you.
