VS Chassis Tuning Guide
VS remains a light, enjoyable legacy chassis that can feel quick with a simple setup. Its short wheelbase and fixed counter gear give it a clear character, but modern jump-heavy layouts expose its durability limits.
Keep a VS build light
Start with straight shafts, secure gear-cover fitment and a restrained roller/stay package. Side stays need regular inspection, and piling on reinforcement can remove the low-weight advantage that makes the chassis attractive in the first place.
Choose the right job
VS is best approached as a careful technical or nostalgic build rather than a universal answer to rough 5-lane courses. Use modest damping, tune the drivetrain precisely and move to a newer platform when the course demands more impact control.
