Description

A pair of poles tipped with balls, mounted to stand off from the body and contact the course fencing under cornering load. The ball tips give the car a controlled contact point against the fence, resisting twist or tipping through fast corners so it tracks straighter instead of bouncing off the rail. Some bodies may need trimming or drilling at the mounting points to fit the poles.

Tamiya lists this set as fitting essentially the entire modern chassis range — Type 3 through Type 5, Zero, FM, FM-A, Super-1, Super-II, Super FM, Super TZ, Super X, Super XX, Super TZ-X, VS, MS, AR, MA, VZ and ME chassis are all named, with only the original Type 1 and Type 2 chassis excluded — so chassis fitment is rarely the limiting factor compared with clearing the body shell. Unlike guide rollers, which run continuously against the fence to steer the car through a curve, ball-tipped stabilizing poles are meant only to brush contact under load, adding resistance to tipping without the constant rolling friction a roller introduces.
