Description
A hollow stainless steel propeller shaft made for the Super X and Super XX chassis family, drilled through to reduce weight versus the kit-standard solid shaft while retaining steel's rigidity. The set includes plastic gears along with two plastic pinion gears for a complete drivetrain replacement. Note that on FM-A chassis cars, only the propeller shaft itself is usable, not the accompanying gears.

The propeller shaft carries drive from the gearbox counter gear through to the axle, so a hollow core cuts rotating mass right where it most affects acceleration. Tamiya sells a second hollow-shaft part for the same chassis family, the 72mm Hollow Stainless Steel Shafts (No.297), which lighten a different driveline component rather than duplicating this one; together they reflect the same weight-saving approach used on the older Super-1/TZ chassis generation's 1.4mm Hollow Propeller Shaft (No.205).
