Tamiya 2mm Aluminum Lock Nut (Blue, 5pcs.)(15500)

A 2mm aluminum lock nut for securing rollers, mass dampers and other bolt-on parts against vibration during a race. Like the red version (item 15493), it uses a resin insert to keep the nut biting onto the screw thread, but is finished in blue anodizing rather than red.

The resin ring is what separates a lock nut from a plain hex nut: as it threads on, the ring grips the screw's threads, so the nut resists backing off under the vibration and landing impacts of a race run rather than working loose like a plain nut. 2mm is the thread size used by most Tamiya roller, hex and mass damper screws, so this nut is the standard fastener pairing for those parts rather than a specialty size. Five per pack gives enough spares to rebuild several mounting points during a setup change.
