The Winning Bird Formula is one of Tamiya's classic Mini 4WD shapes, reproduced here as clear, unpainted polycarbonate rather than the pre-painted ABS bodies used on most kits. As with radio control car bodies, colour is applied to the inside surface with polycarbonate-specific paint, which shows through the clear plastic while being naturally protected from stone chips and track scuffs by the panel itself, rather than sitting exposed on the outside. That construction is also why the body ships lighter than a painted ABS shell, trimming weight up front where it counts most for a quick launch.
