Description
Announced alongside the Daihatsu KOPEN "Future Included" concept car's debut at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013, this Mini 4WD model translates the real car's swappable-body-panel concept into two distinct kits. The RMZ version featured here recreates the concept's sporty variant, with a smooth, flowing silhouette, and is built on the short-wheelbase VS chassis for nimble handling. It's finished with silver-colored wheels and low-profile tires and runs a 4:1 gear ratio.
At 145mm overall, the RMZ kit is 5mm shorter than its XMZ sibling's 150mm, a difference that tracks directly with the VS chassis's shorter wheelbase versus the Super-II chassis used on the XMZ. Both variants were revealed together at the same 2013 motor show unveiling, letting Tamiya launch the KOPEN's swappable-panel concept as a matched pair of kits rather than a single body design.
