Description
The Lupine Racer 2 is the second wolf-themed entry in Tamiya's line of animal-driver Mini 4WD cars, following earlier releases piloted by a polar bear, an elephant and a pig. A pre-assembled and painted Lupine Racer figure sits in the open-top Thunder Shot body, moulded here in a new dark blue.
The car runs on the AR chassis, an aerodynamically shaped design in reinforced polycarbonate-ABS resin. Its form is built to let air flow through the chassis interior to cool the battery and motor as the car runs, with matching intakes on the chassis and body. The underpanel and diffuser can be removed without taking the body off, and a low-friction rear skid bar is fitted to cut time lost on slope sections. Orange five-spoke wheels are paired with dark blue large-diameter slick tires, and a sheet of metallic stickers is included for finishing.
