Description

Shooting Proud Star is based on a car from the "Hyper Dash! Yonkuro" strip in the Japanese comic CoroCoro Aniki. Its designer, Hiroyuki Takei, has a direct connection to Mini 4WD history: as a junior-high-school student, his design was selected in a competition and became the basis for the original Dash-3 Shooting Star. This successor carries over a thin, rapier-like canopy with an air intake above it, distinctive side intakes, superficial front and rear damper detailing, and an elaborate wing. It rides on large-diameter white 4-spoke wheels fitted with slick tires.

The build uses Tamiya's MA (Midship AERO) chassis, motor mounted centrally for aerodynamic balance, here geared 4:1 with six low-friction rollers and a rear skid bar over a single-piece monocoque frame.

  • Assembled dimensions: 156mm (L) x 97mm (W) x 49mm (H)
  • Chassis: MA, gear ratio 4:1, 6 low-friction rollers, rear skid bar
  • Wheels: white 4-spoke, large diameter; tires: slick
  • Includes double-shaft motor; snap-together assembly
  • Requires 2x AA (R6/UM3) batteries, sold separately
