Like the rest of Tamiya's off-road Mini 4WD line, it uses a shaft-driven 4WD chassis and assembles entirely by snapping parts together, with no cement needed.
It shares its shaft-driven 4WD platform and cement-free assembly with the Mitsubishi Pajero V6 3500 kit (item 19023) elsewhere in the Mini 4WD Series' off-road SUV line-up. Both kits share the same 72mm width, but at 159mm long the Land Cruiser is 17mm longer than the Pajero's 142mm, reflecting the real Land Cruiser 100's larger full-size wagon body against the Pajero's more compact 2-door form.
