Dran Buster vs Dran Brave: UX or CX for Your Next Bey?
Choose Dran Buster UX-01 for a focused, large-contact attack design without separate Blade subparts to select. Choose Dran Brave CX-01 if changing the Blade’s Lock Chip, Main Blade and Assist Blade is part of the hobby you want to explore. Both starters supply a winder launcher and require a separate stadium. The purchase decision is about your preferred route into attack and customization, rather than assuming the newer line wins every battle.

Focused contact or a modular Blade
Takara Tomy presents Dran Buster as a single-hit specialist: a large attack contact paired with a Bit whose large gear emphasizes X Dash. Dran Brave belongs to the original three-part CX Blade system. The manufacturer describes downforce and acceleration as part of its attack concept. These claims explain intended operation, not a direct comparison result. Choosing Brave adds another layer of assembly and experimentation; choosing Buster keeps the Blade choice simpler while still allowing Ratchet and Bit changes.
Read A and V as different purchases
UX-01 contains 1-60 and Accel, while CX-01 contains 6-60 and Vortex. Both Ratchets carry a 60 height designation, but the complete profiles and Bits differ. Do not infer identical behaviour from that shared number. If you already own 1-60 and Accel, Brave supplies more new named parts; if Vortex and 6-60 are already in your box, Buster may fill the gap. Check exact versions rather than counting only how many Beys you own.
CX does not make every Blade component interchangeable
Dran Brave S names the Dran Lock Chip, Brave Main Blade and S Assist Blade. Those are the starting point for compatible CX experiments; they are not detachable pieces of the UX Dran Buster Blade. Follow the relevant assembly instructions and compatibility limits when combining CX parts. Buying Brave does not require immediately buying several Assist Blades. Start with the supplied construction, learn to assemble it correctly, and add another component only when you have a clear comparison to make.
Compare the full starting basket
Both products include one Bey and a winder launcher, but neither includes a stadium or a second opponent. A household starting from nothing should also compare the UX-04 and CX-04 entry sets, which package two Beys and two launchers with a stadium. If you already have a place to play, the single starter avoids buying another arena. Set colours can differ from the standalone releases, so distinguish a different appearance from a genuinely new stock component.
Learn the attack before changing it
Keep a familiar opponent and practice a repeatable launch position. Record self exits as well as knockouts against the opponent; a dramatic collision alone says little about overall usefulness. Swap players when possible, then change one part at a time. For Brave, leave the Blade assembly fixed until you understand its stock movement. For Buster, do not assume harder pulling solves every missed hit. This comparison is based on construction and contents; it does not report a Monkee Mods win-rate test.
