When a Low Beyblade X Ratchet Creates a Clearance Problem
A lower Ratchet label can sound like a straightforward upgrade, but the full Blade–Ratchet–Bit assembly determines what actually clears the stadium and another top. Both numbers in a Ratchet designation matter; the height suffix alone does not identify the complete part. That shorthand is useful for sorting parts, not proof that a lower assembly will win a matchup. Inspect contact and locking before changing height.
Record the complete assembly
Write down the exact Blade, Ratchet and Bit names from the official lineup, along with the top's spin direction. Compare the Ratchet's full notation; 3-60 and 5-60 are not interchangeable names simply because both end in 60. A Bit can also change the assembled ride height and tilt. Check each component's lock against the product manual before a battle.
Look for a real clearance symptom
On a clean, covered stadium, observe whether a Blade edge, Ratchet or Bit is contacting a surface in an unusual way. Photograph the parts afterward for new scuffs or cracks. Do not hold a spinning top to inspect it. A low build that scrapes due to damage or misassembly needs repair, not another lower part. Stop play if a lock is unreliable.
Run a controlled comparison
If every part is sound, keep Blade and Bit fixed and swap only between two documented compatible Ratchets. Use the same launcher and repeat launches while logging self-knockouts, bursts and contact observations. One battle cannot separate height effects from launch variation. Follow current event rules, which may restrict parts or combinations.

Frequently asked questions
Does a 60-height Ratchet always beat an 80?
No. Clearance and results depend on the full assembly, launch and opponent.
Is the final number the whole Ratchet specification?
No. Record the full notation, including the first number.
