This is the schedule on the Tamiya Malaysia / Penn-Mart announcement. Friday's two time blocks are training sessions; Saturday and Sunday are the stated competition days. Do not assume that Friday's registration window is the only way to enter, or that a practice slot guarantees a competition place. The announcement does not give those terms.
Stock and Open are separate preparations
Stock Class is not simply a slower Open car. Tamiya publishes a separate Stock Class rule sheet, including restrictions on chassis cutting, non-body part modification and how wall-contacting parts are fixed. Its general race regulations still apply where the Stock sheet does not replace them. Open Class allows a broader tuning approach under the applicable official and event rules. Read the event's final class documents before assuming an individual motor, battery, brake or plate setup is eligible.
If you are new to the sport, build a reliable car and practice repeatable clean finishes before chasing a peak-speed time. Use Friday to learn the actual course, then adjust one variable at a time. Pack spare batteries, tyres and small drivetrain parts; the race-day checklist is a practical starting point. A car that finishes several clean runs is more useful than one fast lap followed by a course-out.
