AIT Lightning Mod Guide: Magazines, Firmware & Darts
The AIT Toys Lightning is a compact triple-brushless flywheel blaster with semi-auto, burst and full-auto modes, an OLED interface and updateable firmware. Monkee Mods' current Lightning products focus on faster reloads and more magazine capacity rather than an internal motor or flywheel conversion.
Stock performance / design: The Lightning package uses a proprietary 10-dart magazine, quick-release battery and charging dock. Its electronic dart sensor and firmware are as important to the build as the external magazine parts.

Recommended mods & why
- Build the reload system as a set. Add the magwell flare, then choose one +3 or +5 base shape for each magazine.
- Use darts the sensor can recognise. AIT notes that black or grey darts may not be detected and that worn, soft foam can feed poorly at the Lightning's rate of fire.
- Use firmware for control changes. The manufacturer's v9.0.6 update adds full-auto refinements, magazine tracking and four saved speed levels; the Monkee Mods catalog does not list an internal motor upgrade.
