Swapping between the two rates changes how firmly the damper resists compression on landings and impacts, and springs are worth replacing periodically since repeated compression fatigues them and softens their response over time. Fits cars built with Items 15139, 15198, 15467, 15469, 95363 and 95364.
Those compatible items span both the standard and wide-damper lines: Item 15139 is the Front Slide Damper & Roller Set, 15198 the Rear Slide Damper & Brake Set, 15467/15469 the Rear and Front Wide Slide Dampers, and 95363/95364 the red-anodised Front and Rear Wide Slide Damper 2 versions. A softer gold spring compresses further and soaks up bigger hits, suiting rough home tracks or landings after a jump, while the harder silver spring keeps the chassis riding higher and steadier on smooth, fast courses.

We counted every non-kit SKU in our own 289-item Tamiya catalogue by named chassis. MS, AR and Super XX lead, but two-thirds of parts name no chassis at all.
