Description
Two ribbed gear shafts finished with a low-friction plated coating to reduce drivetrain friction and promote smoother, more efficient gear rotation. The ribbed surface improves grip against the mating crown gear.
Tamiya's current compatibility listing for this shaft also includes the newer VZ chassis alongside the Type 3, FM-A, Super-II, Super X, Super XX, VS, and AR chassis already noted. Because the ribs sit proud of the shaft body, they key into the crown gear's teeth more positively than a smooth shaft would, cutting down the slip that would otherwise sap power on its way to the wheels.
