Browse available alternativesThe Pinion Puller is a small maintenance tool for removing an 8-tooth pinion gear from a Mini 4WD motor's output shaft without prying or striking it. Turning the tool's screw draws the pinion off the shaft in a controlled, straight pull, avoiding the bent shafts or cracked bearings that can result from levering a stuck gear off with a screwdriver.
Tamiya's listing shows this tool as compatible across all nineteen current and legacy chassis types, which makes sense given it services the motor rather than the chassis. Removing a stuck pinion is normally the first step when swapping motors between units such as the Torque-Tuned, Rev-Tuned, or Atomic-Tuned range, and pulling it straight off avoids marring the shaft's finish, which matters because a scored shaft can chew up whatever bearing it spins in afterward.
