Tamiya Reinforced Gears w/Easy Locking Gear Cover(15438)

This set pairs two 8T pinion gears and two crown gears, all molded in carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon resin for greater durability than standard resin gears, with a newly designed rear gear cover for the Super-II chassis. The cover uses a lever-operated lock so it can be opened for gear maintenance without removing screws each time. Fitment splits by chassis family: Tamiya lists the Type 3, Type 4, Type 5, FM, Super FM, Super X, Super XX, MS, MA, FM-A, and ME chassis as able to use the pinion gears only, while the Zero, Super-1, Super TZ, VS, Super TZ-X, AR, and VZ chassis can use both the crown and pinion gears from the set. This split reflects differences in gearbox layout between Tamiya's older and newer chassis families, so it's worth checking which category a given build falls into before assuming the full set applies to it.
