Berg Kaiser Premium 19437: Super-II Kit Guide

Berg Kaiser Premium (item 19437) is the Super-II version of Michael's machine from Let's & Go!! WGP. It is a classic-body choice with a quite specific stock parts combination: gunmetal shell, gold details, silver Super-II frame, yellow wheels, 3.5:1 gears and 13 mm plastic rollers. Those concrete details are more useful to a buyer than the word Premium on its own. The model is a motorized assembly kit, so Tamiya's finished product photograph shows the result to build, not an assembled car that arrives ready to run.

Identify the WGP car and its finish

Tamiya files this release as Fully Cowled Mini 4WD Series No.37. The gunmetal-colored body and gold metallic stickers are central to its Berg Kaiser appearance. They are not a carbon-fibre body treatment or a special racing coating. Work out where the gold graphics go before pressing them onto the curves of the shell. Because the body is sculpted around the wheels, fit it to the assembled chassis before making any decision about alternate wheel or roller positions. The published stock dimensions are 150 mm long and 97 mm wide; a later stay or roller choice changes the finished footprint.

Some Tamiya site tags put this page under a broad “Sonic Cars” grouping. The product name and its WGP description identify it as Berg Kaiser, not a Sonic. If you are collecting specific characters, rely on item number 19437 rather than that navigation tag. The Fully Cowled series guide explains how body series and chassis can vary independently; it does not substitute for checking the exact item number.

The Super-II parts this box actually includes

Under the shell, Tamiya uses a silver ABS Super-II chassis. Its A parts are gunmetal; the EX side stays are gold-colored. A silver rear stay secures through the familiar Super-II rotating switches and provides more than one attachment point. Yellow five-spoke wheels wear low-profile tires. The 3.5:1 gears, 13 mm plastic rollers and motor are explicitly in Tamiya's English listing. Two AA/R6 cells are needed separately. This is enough to assemble and see the complete stock design before buying a different roller or gear set.

Build the drivetrain first and rotate the wheels by hand. Make sure the rear stay is actually locked and the body catches without pressing against it. The colors help identify parts, but none of the metallic and gold treatments proves a higher-performance material. Tamiya says an aluminum motor support is an optional separate part, not an item included in this kit. The Super-II chassis guide covers general maintenance and later tuning once the stock car runs reliably.

How to think about rollers and body clearance

The supplied 13 mm plastic rollers give you a simple starting point. Before swapping them, attach the Berg Kaiser body and view the front and rear from track height. Make sure a proposed stay, screw head or roller does not rub the cowl as the car moves. A body that snaps on while the car is motionless can still touch a wheel or hardware under vibration. If it does, stop and recheck the mounting position; do not assume the body should be cut. Any cut for racing must also meet the current class and organiser rules. The parts-matching guide is useful when evaluating an optional Super-II part.

There is no reason to treat the included 3.5:1 gear as a demand to race at one speed. It is simply this kit's published starting configuration. Track sections, battery state, motor choice, tire condition and roller setup all matter. A buyer who wants Berg Kaiser as a display build may prefer the stock color balance; a racer may tune later while keeping the WGP shell. Both should start by knowing the exact package.

Who should choose Berg Kaiser Premium?

Choose item 19437 for Michael's WGP car on Super-II, especially if the gunmetal, gold and yellow stock finish appeals to you. If you want a Sonic-family body or an AR chassis, select a different exact kit instead of assuming all Fully Cowled Premium releases are alike. The Berg Kaiser Premium product listing is the direct store page for this item.
