Description
A hollow 1.4mm-diameter propeller shaft machined from stainless steel, drilled through its length to shed weight compared to a solid shaft while keeping the strength of steel construction. The set comes complete with plastic gears, including two plastic pinion gears, so it can be fitted as a full replacement drivetrain shaft.

Tamiya's compatibility list also extends to the VZ chassis, though on AR-family cars only the propeller shaft itself carries over — the accompanying plastic gears aren't used, since AR's gearbox differs. The propeller shaft carries drive from the gearbox's counter gear through to the axle, so trimming its rotating mass with a hollow core cuts reciprocating inertia and helps acceleration out of corners, the same weight-saving approach Tamiya applies with its 72mm Hollow Stainless Steel Shafts (No.297) for the separate Super X/XX chassis family.
