The small diameter and reduced ground contact of the hard tires are aimed at improving acceleration and cornering by lowering rolling resistance.
As with Tamiya's other white-tire sets, the black wheel and white tire combination is a distinctive visual pairing. Compatible with Super X and Super XX chassis machines.
Unlike the narrow large-diameter wheel and tire set above, Tamiya lists this small-diameter set as compatible with only Super X and Super XX chassis, not FM-A. Going small in diameter rather than just narrow also lowers the car's effective gearing at the wheel, which is why racers usually pair a switch to small-diameter wheels with a gear ratio change rather than treating it as a simple drop-in swap.

The Mini 4WD Super X chassis and its wider XX sibling are rigid and roomy. How to tune both, and when that extra width genuinely helps you race.
We counted every non-kit SKU in our own 289-item Tamiya catalogue by named chassis. MS, AR and Super XX lead, but two-thirds of parts name no chassis at all.
