Description
A sponge tire set formulated for low rebound, meaning the tire absorbs landing energy rather than bouncing the car back up off the track surface after a jump. The low-density sponge also keeps the tires light. They are sized for large-diameter narrow wheels rather than Tamiya's standard-width tires.

The "HG" (High Grade) designation marks this as an upgraded sponge compound rather than the tires bundled with Tamiya's kits, and low-rebound sponge is generally favoured on tracks with big jump sections, where a normal tire's bounce can throw a car off-line or send it over a barrier on landing. Large-diameter narrow wheels are the type fitted to many of Tamiya's Aero and Fully Cowled Mini 4WD releases; the taller diameter changes a car's effective gearing and ground clearance compared with the standard wide wheel and tire combination, so this tire size isn't interchangeable with a standard wheel.
