Description
Launched in 2012 to mark the 30th anniversary of Tamiya's Mini 4WD line, the REV Series opened with the Aero Avante, an aerodynamics-focused redesign of the long-running Avante body. The Avante lineage traces back to Tamiya's R/C 4WD racing buggy of the same name, known for its wedge-shaped nose, sleek lines and large rear wing — features carried forward through the Super Avante, Avante Mk.II and Avante X before arriving here. The Aero Avante's ground-hugging body adds curved surfaces and air intakes for heat dissipation, nose-mounted bargeboards to clear vortices thrown off by the front wheels, and a reshaped rear wing to cut drag.
The chassis was engineered alongside the body with aerodynamics in mind: its monocoque main frame uses a ground-effect design with channels to keep air flowing smoothly beneath the car.
