Beyblade X CX Assist Blades Guide
On a Custom Line (CX) Beyblade X top the Blade is not one piece. Under the metal Main Blade sits a plastic ring Takara Tomy calls the Assist Blade. CX tops let you swap and combine all three Blade pieces — Lock Chip, Main Blade and Assist Blade — but the Assist Blade is the cheapest, lowest-stakes one to experiment with, and it is why a CX name has an extra letter in the middle: S on CX-01 Dran Brave S6-60V is Slash, R on CX-02 Wizard Arc R4-55LO is Round, A on CX-07 Pegasus Blast ATr is Assault, J on Fox Brush from CX-06 is Jaggy.
What the Assist Blade is for
The official CX system splits contact: the Main Blade carries the metal and does most of the hitting; the Assist Blade is a lighter plastic ring that changes height, underside shape and how the stack meets a low opponent or the stadium floor late in a battle. It is not a second Main Blade. Community buyer's guides treat it as a tuning piece that shifts recoil and weight distribution rather than rewriting the Main Blade's type. Takara Tomy's CX CUP part list still lets you use any Ratchet and Bit in that format; the restriction is on CX Blade pieces, including Assist Blades.

The current CX CUP list is longer than that shortlist (Charge, Dual, Erase, Free, Knuckle, Massive, Turn, Vertical, Wheel, Zillion). Use the official event page for the legal set on the day, not a blog table. Assist Blades do vary in height — Heavy is a low 50-height ring, Wheel a high 80-height one — and that height changes whether the ring contacts a low attacker at all.
Deck rules treat it as a part
In 3-on-3 deck battle, repeating a part across three beys is illegal. Two CX tops that both use Jaggy count as a repeated Assist Blade even if the Lock Chips and Main Blades differ. That is easy to miss if you only look at Blade names. Confirm the organiser's part-identity rule before you build three CX stacks off one popular Assist Blade.
What not to assume from a listing
Aftermarket metal Assist Blades exist. They are not the official plastic part, and an organiser can reject them. A replica CX listing that shows a coloured ring is not proof of Slash, Jaggy or Heavy — read the letter in the combo name and the official line-up, the same way our CX system guide asks you to.
