Dran Strike is product code BX-49, a Basic Line Expand Blade Starter released in Japan on 16 May 2026 at ¥2,200. The stock combo is 4-50FF: a 4-50 Ratchet and a Free Flat Bit, bundled with a winder launcher. Official copy is explicit about the construction change: the Blade's metal is connected through the centre to raise rigidity, which is the BX Expand idea from the Expand Blade guide, and the combo pairs that stiffer Blade with a short Ratchet and a fast Bit so it can land hard attacks repeatedly. How 4-50FF differs from Dran Sword 3-60F

BX-01 Dran Sword, the original launch attacker, is 3-60F: three protrusions, 6.0 mm, one Flat Bit. Dran Strike's 4-50 is four protrusions at 5.0 mm — shorter than almost every launch-era Ratchet — and FF (Free Flat) is a flat tip similar to F but with a centre indentation and a modified shaft that lets it spin freely relative to the Ratchet, reducing stamina loss during an Xtreme Dash. The official page's "repeated strong attacks" line is that height plus that Bit, not a claim that Strike replaces Sword in every deck. Sword still uses a separate standard Blade; Strike's Blade is the Expand piece and does not become a drop-in Sword clone. Hasbro's Western release is Strike Dran 4-50FF (an Infinity Starter Pack); match BX-49 and 4-50FF.

What Expand does on this particular Blade

BX Expand does not fuse the Ratchet away the way UX-20 Glory Valkyrie does. You still unscrew 4-50 and try 1-50, 3-60 or 1-70. What you cannot do is treat the Strike Blade as a 2023 BX-01 mould. The metal-through-centre construction is the part you are buying. The documented prize versions are single-combo Metal Coat recolours (BX-00 Bronze, Silver and Gold), not a spread of Ratchet and Bit pairings — treat any wider pairing claim as unverified, and cite samples as samples.

How to test it without copying a list

Start stock, on a standard Xtreme Stadium, against one attacker and one stamina top you already know. Then change only the Bit (Low Rush, Kick, Jolt) or only the Ratchet. A 5.0 mm height is low enough to snipe some Ratchets and low enough to be sniped by others; that is the experiment. Do not assume Infinity Stadium results from a BX-10 session. BX-49 is a Japan-market Starter; local replica "Strike" listings are not this product. The winder is right-spin. Play only in a Beyblade X stadium. Expand parts can have their own organiser questions in the first months after release — ask, especially if the event still uses an older legal-part sheet. Recheck the official BX-49 page for contents and yen MSRP on the day, and do not mix Burst-series parts with it.
