Do Beyblade X Launchers Work With Beyblade Burst?

Beyblade X launchers and earlier-generation beys are largely not interchangeable, and forcing them causes damage.

X and Burst are different systems

Beyblade X uses a different engagement between bey and launcher than Beyblade Burst. A Burst launcher will not reliably drive an X bey, and the mismatch stresses both sets of teeth.

What does work

X launchers work across the X range: string launchers, winders and grips within the generation are designed to interoperate. Within X, mixing launcher types across beys is fine.

Why forcing it is a bad idea

Partial engagement means an unpredictable launch and accelerated wear on the drive surfaces. A damaged launcher is more expensive than the booster you were trying to avoid buying.

If you own both generations

Keep the launchers with their own generation. Labelling them saves the ten seconds of confusion that leads to someone forcing the wrong pairing.
