Every Beyblade X bey is three parts, and each one does a distinct job. Understanding the split is the difference between collecting and actually building.

Blade

The Blade is the top section that carries most of the weight and does the hitting. Its shape decides whether the bey is built to attack, to absorb hits, or to keep spinning. This is the part people recognise, and the part that most defines a combo's character.

Ratchet

The Ratchet sits between the Blade and the Bit and sets the height and the number of contact points. It is written as two numbers, such as 3-60: the first is the number of protrusions, the second the height in tenths of a millimetre — so 60 means 6.0mm, not 60mm. Height decides what your bey hits and what hits it.

Bit

The Bit is the tip touching the stadium floor. It controls movement and friction: a flat Bit moves aggressively and burns spin quickly, a ball Bit stays central and lasts, while a taper Bit sits in between — more active than a ball Bit, but with more stamina than a flat one. Swapping only the Bit can turn an attacker into a stamina build.

Reading a name off the box: Dran Sword 3-60F

Put the three parts together and a product name decodes in seconds. Dran Sword is the Blade name — almost always a creature or character word plus a weapon or feature word. 3-60 is the Ratchet: three protrusions, 6.0mm tall. F is the Bit code — here, Flat. Once you know the order, any BX or UX name reads the same way: Blade, then Ratchet, then Bit.

CX names carry two extra fields

The CX line splits the Blade itself into up to three stacked pieces, so a CX name has two more parts to decode. Take CX-01 Dran Brave S6-60V: Dran is the Lock Chip, the top piece that twists to lock the stack together; Brave is the Main Blade, carrying most of the mass and character; S is the Assist Blade underneath it (here, Slash), fine-tuning weight distribution; 6-60 is the Ratchet, same convention as BX/UX; and V is the Bit — Vortex.
