The official Mini 4WD race regulations state it in plain language: "Parts used for modification are limited to Tamiya Mini 4WD, R/C Mini 4WD, and Dangun Racer parts only." Motors must be Tamiya-branded; batteries must be Tamiya-branded R6/AA/UM3 cells, nothing else. The Stock Class regulations repeat the restriction: "Any additional parts are limited to Tamiya Mini 4WD, R/C Mini 4WD, and Dangun Racer parts," with only those two named exceptions. A bearing, gear or roller that did not come out of one of those three sources is not legal to fit, regardless of how well it performs or how closely it resembles the original. That is different from most hobby classes, where a third-party part is fine as long as it fits the dimension and weight envelope — here the part's origin is itself the rule.
The regulations also set the physical envelope every legal car must fit inside: under 105mm wide, under 70mm tall, under 165mm long, at least 1mm of ground clearance, a minimum all-up weight of 90g including motor and battery, and tyres between 22-35mm diameter and 8-26mm wide. None of this is always visible before the car is running — a copied part can look identical in the packaging and still be measurably out of specification under load.
