Spotting fakes

Packaging print quality, correct item numbers and consistent moulding are the usual tells. A price well below every other seller is the clearest warning available.

Buy from known shops

Established hobby retailers stock genuine parts and will stand behind them. The saving on a marketplace listing rarely survives the first badly fitting bearing.

Keep the packaging

Boxed parts with their item numbers make legality checks straightforward at tech inspection, and they are what a shop will ask for if something turns out to be faulty.
