Mini 4WD Event Preparation Guide

Preparing for a Mini 4WD event properly means the day is about racing rather than fixing.

Practise on the layout

If the track is known in advance, run it. Setup is track-specific, and arriving with an untested configuration means spending the event discovering problems.

Service the car

Clean and re-lubricate the drivetrain, check bearings and rollers, confirm axle trueness and replace anything marginal. Do this the week before, not the night before.

Cycle the batteries

Charge and, if your charger supports it, refresh the cells you plan to race. Take more charged sets than you think you need.

Pack from a list

Tools, spares, batteries, charger, setup sheet. Write the list once and reuse it; the item you forget is always the one that fails.

Arrive early

Track conditions differ from home, and practice time before racing starts is when you adapt your setup. Arriving late means racing an untested configuration.
