What Is a BCAR? Nerf Compensator Guide
A BCAR is a rifled, bearing-mounted barrel attachment that spins a foam dart in flight. Monkee Mods sells two versions — the BCAR200 and the BCAR300 — and the choice between them comes down to one number: the FPS the dart is actually leaving your blaster at, not which blaster model you own.
What it actually does: a BCAR solves two problems at once. Trailing muzzle blast right behind an exiting dart destabilises it, and manufacturing imperfections in foam darts make their flight inconsistent even in still air. Rifling spins the dart to resist both effects, and porting inspired by SCAR-style designs lets that trailing blast vent around the dart rather than slam into its tail.

Recommended mods & why
- Measure your blaster's real FPS with your actual dart and spring combination before choosing a BCAR. This is the deciding factor, not the blaster's name. A blaster in the 130-250 FPS range is a BCAR200 fit; only once you're consistently above roughly 240-250 FPS does the BCAR300's tighter twist make sense — below that threshold it destabilises the dart instead of helping it.
- Don't assume a "sniper class" blaster automatically needs the BCAR300. Some higher-power springers sit well within the BCAR200's effective range depending on the exact spring and barrel fitted, so a chronograph reading is worth more than the blaster's reputation.
- If your collection spans both power bands, own both. A BCAR200 for lower-output builds and a BCAR300 for the highest-output ones covers the full range rather than compromising on one.
- Stick to the recommended dart types. Bamboo and Worker Gen2/Gen3 darts are the tested reference point for both attachments; other dart types haven't been documented against these specs.
