Balance bits give up a Blade's single best trait in exchange for behaviour that holds up across more matchups, and several of the format's most-played bits fall into this category.

Hexa and Elevate: two of the format's most-used Balance bits

Hexa uses a hexagonal tip with protrusions meeting at a sharp point, designed to upright itself and hold a stable spin; like Accel and Glide it runs 16 gears rather than the standard 12, trading some stamina for extra Xtreme Dash speed. Level, Unite and Quake: controlled aggression with an endgame

Level is officially an Attack-type bit, but its real late-battle stamina makes it play like a hybrid, which is why it still shows up in balance builds. Unite behaves more like a stamina-boosted attacker, giving up some early aggression for a build that can still be standing at the end. Quake sits at the opposite end of that spectrum: a heavier, more specialised shape that most players find outclassed by the other options here, so treat it as one to experiment with rather than a default pick.

Taper and High Taper

Taper's flat tip gives it active, attack-leaning movement, while a rounded edge keeps more stamina than a pure Flat bit — that mix of traits is exactly what makes it a Balance-type bit rather than a Stamina one. High Taper raises the same shape for more clearance.

Zap, Trans Point, Gear Point and Gear Unite

Zap runs 16 gears under a small, Point-like ball tip: it can open aggressively and then turn passive, similar to Point, but with weaker stamina and a higher self-knockout risk, so it rewards careful launch technique. Trans Point and Gear Point are transformation and gear variants on the Point shape, worth knowing by name if you come across them, but neither has displaced the bits above in general use. Gear Unite pairs Unite's stamina-boosted-attacker behaviour with gear teeth cut longer for a faster Xtreme Dash, at the usual stamina cost that comes with extra rail pickup.
