Beyblade X Hells Scythe Guide

Hells Scythe is product code BX-02, one of the four Starters that launched Beyblade X in Japan on 15 July 2023 at ¥1,980. The stock combo is 4-60T: a 4-60 Ratchet and a Taper Bit, bundled with a winder launcher. Takara Tomy's official blurb is a mix of attack and defence parts intended to handle a wider range of opponents than a pure attacker or a pure stamina top — which is why it sits next to Dran Sword, Wizard Arrow and Knight Shield in the launch set rather than duplicating any of them.

How the stock combo is built

4-60 is four protrusions at 6.0 mm. That is one more contact point than Dran Sword's 3-60 and a lower height than Wizard Arrow's 4-80, so the Blade meets the opponent in a different band. T (Taper) is a balance-leaning Bit: a flatter contact than Ball, more stamina than a pure Flat. Right-spin, like the rest of the original BX Starters. The Blade name is the four-contact scythe profile; community write-ups call out four smash edges, which matches the shape you can see on the official product images, but the Japan page itself does not publish a per-edge stat table — treat "four smash blades" as a description of the mould, not an official power ranking.

Why it is still a useful first Balance top

Players who bought the launch four often kept Hells Scythe as the "answer" bey: not the lead attacker, not the stamina anchor, but the one that could take a hit and still move. That is a deck role, not a promise that 4-60T wins any given matchup. Common rebuilds swap the Taper Bit for Needle or Ball when the opponent is an attacker, or for Flat / Rush when you want it to finish faster. Hells Scythe is not Hells Hammer

UX-02 Hells Hammer 3-70H is a Unique Line top from 30 March 2024 with rim-weighted metal and a Hexa Bit. Sharing the "Hells" prefix does not make the parts interchangeable as a set, and a left-spin or CX "Hells" Lock Chip in a later Custom Line product is a different piece again. Before you battle or buy

BX-02 needs a Beyblade X stadium; it is not Burst-compatible. The winder in the Starter is right-spin. Confirm package contents against the official BX-02 page rather than a photo of a colourway replica. Organiser rules decide whether a worn 4-60 or a substituted Bit is still the same bey for deck-repeat purposes.
