The Holy Warrior EXPS3 is a documented replica of the EOTech EXPS3 holographic sight, and the questions people search — why won't it zero, why does the elevation adjustment do nothing — have real, mechanical answers rooted in how the genuine EXPS3 is designed. How zeroing actually works on this sight
On the genuine EOTech EXPS3, which this design copies, the front knob controls windage and the rear knob controls elevation. Each click moves the point of impact by 1/2 MOA — roughly half an inch at 100 yards, a quarter-inch at 50, an eighth-inch at 25. Total adjustment range is 80 MOA (40 MOA in each direction from centre) on both axes. The standard EXPS3-0 reticle is a 1 MOA dot inside a 68 MOA ring, designed for fast target acquisition at the ring scale and precise aim at the dot.
Why it won't zero — the actual failure pattern
This is a documented issue across EOTech-clone turrets generally, not something specific to one unit — treat this as the mechanism to check, not a report about this exact product.
- Cheaper clone turrets often lack a true positive detent. You can turn the dial and feel resistance, but the click doesn't reliably correspond to a real, repeatable increment of reticle movement — so counting clicks doesn't reproduce the same point of impact.
- Forcing a dial past its end of travel damages the mechanism. The official EOTech manual is explicit: if you feel hard resistance, stop and back off in the opposite direction rather than pushing through it. On replicas, the internal stop is often a weaker material than the genuine unit's, so forcing it is what actually strips the turret.
- A tilted mount masquerades as a zeroing problem. If the sight isn't sitting flat and fully torqued on the rail before you start, the whole reticle is canted — windage adjustments can look like they're "not working" when elevation is actually the culprit, or vice versa. Re-seat and re-torque the mount before touching the turrets.
