Common Mini 4WD Tuning Mistakes

Most frustrating Mini 4WD problems are setup problems before they are power problems. A car that course-outs, vibrates or slows unpredictably needs a stable baseline, not an immediate motor upgrade.

Watch for the common traps

Over-motoring, excessive braking, uneven roller height, poor bearing fit and unbalanced damping can all make a car inconsistent. Out-of-round tyres and a noisy gear mesh are easy-to-miss sources of lost speed.

Return to finish, stability, speed

Deburr the kit, confirm alignment, fit sensible rollers and damping, then match the motor and gears to the course. Work in that order and use a test log; a reliable lap is the foundation for every faster lap.
