A Mini 4WD is a small number of systems that each do one job. Knowing which part does what tells you where to look when the car is slow or unstable.

Chassis and stays

The chassis carries everything and sets the wheelbase. Front and rear stays bolt to it and carry the rollers. FRP stays flex; carbon stays are stiffer and lighter, and the choice changes how the car absorbs contact.

Drivetrain

Motor, pinion, counter gear, crown gear and axles. Every meshing surface here costs power, so gear condition and bearing quality matter more than most beginners expect.

Contact with the track

Wheels and tyres put power down; rollers keep the car against the walls; brakes slow it before jumps and banked sections. These three decide whether a fast car actually finishes.

Stability parts

Mass dampers absorb bounce after a landing. They add weight, which is a real cost, but a car that lands flat and keeps its line is faster over a lap than one that bounces off.
